Job summary

Care Concern Group is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at Harrier House Care Home in Hucknall. You will perform maintenance across the building and grounds, carry out basic electrical checks, installations and upkeep to keep the home safe, comfortable and welcoming.

The role requires practical hands-on skills, the ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to health and safety. On offer are a part-time 22-hour week contract with on-call weekends, paid DBS and pension, and uniform

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds.
• Despatch basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently.
• Respond promptly to issues and support planned maintenance.

Job description

As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and comfortable at all times. This is a hands on and varied role where your practical skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the environment and daily experience. You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance. Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks and help maintain a well organised, safe and welcoming environment.
