Job summary

Care Concern Group’s Bower Care Home in Linlithgow is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services. The role involves cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high standards, assisting with laundry and following infection control protocols to ensure residents’ comfort and dignity.

We offer £12.71 per hour, contracted to 37.5 hours per week, with PVG, pension and uniform provided, plus 5.6 weeks annual leave

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good attention to detail and organisation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience is welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high standard of hygiene and presentation.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, with items clearly labelled.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
• Work with the wider team to maintain a well organised and comfortable environment for residents.

Bower Care Home is a purpose built care home in Linlithgow, providing residential, dementia, nursing and respite care in a modern and welcoming environment. With 60 en suite bedrooms and a range of excellent facilities, the home offers a comfortable setting for residents and a rewarding environment for our dedicated care team.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
