Job summary

Gowrie House Care Home in Kirkcaldy is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services. The role involves cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas and ensuring high hygiene standards, with attention to detail and patient dignity.

You will work 30 hours per week at £12.71 per hour, with PVG, pension and uniform provided, plus 5.6 weeks’ annual leave.

Qualifications

Our care home, located in the heart of Kirkcaldy, a coastal town on the Forth Estuary in East Central Scotland, offers comprehensive Residential, Nursing, Dementia & Respite care, providing a supportive and caring environment for 60-residents.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
