Job summary

Yarnley House Care Home is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment and to support laundry services. You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring high hygiene and presentation standards while handling laundry duties with care.

This role requires following infection control practices, health and safety procedures, and collaborating with the wider team. Alternate weekends work is included in the schedule.

Qualifications

• Understanding of hygiene and infection control is beneficial.
• Previous experience welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to a high hygiene and presentation standard.
• Support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing, with items clearly labelled.
• Follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures to carry out tasks safely.
• Contribute to a well organised, comfortable environment where residents feel respected and supported.
• Work alternate weekends as required.

Job description

Our brand-new, luxury service is set in the small village of Crow, which is very close to Ringwood. We provide quality Residential, Dementia, Nursing and Respite care for 72-residents.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 38.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
