Job summary

Alexander House Care Home in Exeter is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff. You will clean residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, and support laundry duties with care and attention to hygiene standards.

This is a hands-on role with weekend work on a rotating pattern. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £12.71, full-time hours (40 per week), and benefits including paid DBS, a pension, uniform provided,

Job description

Our newly built care home is based in the charming suburb of Pinhoe, Exeter. We offer exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 67 residents.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported. The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
