Job summary

Cornwallis Care Services Ltd. Meadowbrook House in Lostwithiel is seeking a caring Housekeeper to help create a warm, safe home for residents who feel comfortable, valued and truly at home.

You will perform cleaning, laundry and bed-making tasks with attention to detail, report repairs, and interact warmly with residents to brighten their day. Full training is provided and a supportive team backs you every step of the way.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops.
• Making beds and changing linens.
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively.
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels.
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas.
• Tidying and refreshing residents' rooms.
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required.
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly.
• Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home.
• Interacting positively with residents and contributing to their sense of home.

Job Purpose

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas
• Tidying and refreshing residents' rooms
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home
• Interacting positively with residents - joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home

Requirements

• Naturally kind, caring, and compassionate
• Highly motivated with great attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues
• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential
• Willingness to work in both cleaning and laundry areas of the home
• Passionate about making residents feel comfortable, safe, and cared for

Payrates

• £12.80 per hour
• £16.00 per hour (Weekends)
• £25.60 per hour (Bank Holidays)
