Job summary

Lawes Consulting Group is recruiting an HNW Development Underwriter for a hybrid role, focusing on building a profitable HNW book through broker relationships and expert underwriting. You will work with senior underwriters and the distribution team to shape pricing and broker propositions as the business grows.

The role involves underwriting new business and renewals, developing broker panels, and driving growth across your region while ensuring regulatory compliance and internal governance.

Qualifications

• Proven underwriting experience within High Net Worth / Private Client insurance.
• Strong track record of developing broker relationships and driving new business growth.
• Sound technical underwriting knowledge across household, contents, valuables, and related HNW covers.
• CII qualifications desirable but not essential; UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewals across a High Net Worth household portfolio, within authority.
• Build, develop, and manage a panel of broker relationships as a trusted contact.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive profitable growth within your territory.
• Conduct broker visits, training sessions, and presentations to strengthen relationships.
• Assess risk quality, pricing, terms, and conditions in line with underwriting appetite and guidelines.
• Monitor portfolio performance and provide MI to support decision-making.
• Support development of new products, wordings, and pricing initiatives with senior colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and governance.
