Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant at Braintree Mews Care Home to maintain cleanliness and laundry to hotel-style standards. You will follow worksheet instructions, protect residents’ dignity, and support a team in daily duties within a care home setting.

Experience in cleaning laundry in public settings and knowledge of health and safety (moving and handling, fire safety, COSHH) are valued, with a disclosure check required and employer-covered costs.

Qualifications

• Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting
• Knowledge of health and safety, particularly moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH assessments
• Compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality housekeeping and laundry service to residents
• Ability to be adaptive and flexible, covering a range of responsibilities at short notice

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and laundry standards across the home as part of a team
• Operate to the standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, maintaining hotel service standards
• Carry out all cleaning duties in line with worksheet instructions
• Apply knowledge of cleaning requirements for different surfaces, coverings and cleaning materials
• Keep areas well presented and maintained in good condition
• Treat residents with dignity and respect, including their personal space and belongings
