Job summary

The Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Head Housekeeper for Braintree Mews Care Home to lead the housekeeping and laundry service and support hospitality within the home.

You will supervise the housekeeping team, train new staff, manage stock and ensure cleaning standards meet the highest quality while keeping within budget. Proof of right to work in the UK and a DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
• Knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH.
• Ability to lead, supervise and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the housekeeping and laundry service and support hospitality.
• Carry out all cleaning duties per the housekeeping job description.
• Prepare orders for Home Manager approval for cleaning materials.
• Maintain stock levels and control within budget.
• Monitor the housekeeping and laundry team's work to maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Supervise and direct the housekeeping team.
• Instruct and demonstrate cleaning tasks to new staff.
