Job summary

Glasgow Marriott Hotel is seeking a Meeting & Events Executive to join our team. You’ll own events from enquiry to post-event follow‑up, delivering exceptional service with a strong commercial focus.

You’ll manage group and event enquiries, conduct engaging site visits, and coordinate menus, layouts and AV to maximise conversion and revenue, while building lasting client relationships. This role requires previous hotel M&E sales experience, excellent negotiation skills and confidence using OPERA

Qualifications

• Previous hotel M&E sales experience is essential.
• Strong communication, sales and negotiation skills.
• Experience with OPERA PMS / S&C preferred.
• Proven hotel experience with excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and ability to upsell effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage and convert group and event enquiries from initial contact through to post-event follow‑up.
• Build relationships with new and returning clients, understanding needs and exceeding expectations.
• Conduct professional site visits and show rounds to maximise conversion.
• Coordinate menus, room layouts/decor, AV requirements, timings and service standards.
• Maintain bookings and client information using hotel systems.
• Work with operations to ensure events are delivered seamlessly.
• Maximise revenue through upselling, cross‑selling and space management.
• Lead pre‑event briefings and post‑event reviews, resolving issues quickly.
• Ensure all activity reflects Marriott’s global brand standards.
