Job summary

Sydney House Chelsea is seeking a Hotel General Assistant to support day-to-day hotel operations across reception, housekeeping and food & beverage. You will interact with guests professionally, assist with check-ins, and help with concierge services while maintaining high standards of service.

The role requires flexibility, attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring excellent guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers in a professional, friendly and confident manner.
• Develop relationships with regular guests to maximise sales opportunities and generate future business.
• Rooming Guests and Room Service - Escort guests to their rooms; assist with luggage and deliveries; provide drinks and amenities.
• Support the reception team with guest requests and check-in, providing regular break cover.
• Concierge support – know the Chelsea area and provide local information, reservations and transport assistance.
• Clean and service bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas to hotel standards.
• Assist pre-arrival inspections and ensure rooms are ready with welcome letters.
• Clean building exterior and public areas; maintain linen cupboards and supplies.
• Assist with maintenance tasks, lightbulbs, and report issues to GM.
• Support breakfast service and maintain high restaurant standards.
• Complete daily beverage and stock counts; rotate stock and ensure readiness.
