Job summary

The Signet Group is seeking a General Manager for The Retreat at Elcot Park, a Berkshire hotel resort. You will lead a team, shape daily operations, and drive guest satisfaction with a calm, strategic approach.

This role reports into the Operations Director and offers a pathway to broader Signet responsibilities. We value a seasoned, thoughtful leader who guides with presence, balance, and a focus on delivering an effortless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in a senior operational role within a quality hotel or inn with rooms.
• Calm under pressure, organized and consistent.
• Strong numerical sense without compromising people.
• Attention to small details and how they influence overall experience.
• Natural leadership style that feels effortless.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Heads of Department to set the tone and keep teams aligned.
• Own the hotel’s commercial performance with a thoughtful growth approach.
• Ensure guest experience is warm, polished, and naturally integrated into service.
• Build a team culture that people want to be part of and stay within.
• Balance the big picture with fine details to ensure consistency.
• Collaborate closely with the Managing Partner and Central Support Team.
