Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Hotel General Manager to lead day-to-day operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance and Events, delivering outstanding service and guest satisfaction. You will recruit, train and develop managers, oversee budgets and financial performance, monitor revenue and costs, and drive growth through sales and local marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Financial and commercial awareness.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Hospitality Management qualification or equivalent.
• Experience managing multi-department hotel operations.
• Knowledge of PMS (Property Management System).
• Food Safety and Health & Safety qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance and Events.
• Lead, motivate, and develop departmental managers and staff; recruit, train, coach and support the team.
• Ensure exceptional guest service is delivered at all times and handle escalated guest issues.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards; conduct risk assessments and audits.
• Support sales activities, local marketing and community engagement to grow occupancy and revenue.
