The Recruitment Co in Newtownabbey is seeking a Hostel Assistant to support day-to-day hostel operations, assist residents, and help maintain a welcoming environment. You will perform property checks, safety inspections, and administrative tasks as part of a busy housing support team.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, housing support, care, facilities, or admin is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT skills and ability to use common software.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Access to a vehicle for work-related duties.
• Basic Access NI check required.

Responsabilités

• Carry out tenant liaison duties, including property access and welfare checks.
• Refer tenant support queries and repairs to appropriate teams.
• Conduct routine property and safety inspections, including fire safety checks.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of hostel flats and communal areas.
• Deliver tenant starter packs and essential household items.
• Support housing teams with dispersed properties in the district.
• Undertake general administrative duties and maintain records.
• Work with housing management teams to provide practical tenant support.

We are currently recruiting for a Hostel Assistant to join a busy housing support team based in the Newtownabbey area. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual who enjoys working with people and helping to maintain safe, welcoming accommodation for residents.

The Role

As a Hostel Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of hostel accommodation, assisting residents, carrying out property checks, and helping to ensure communal areas are maintained to a high standard. You will work closely with housing management teams and provide practical support to tenants across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out tenant liaison duties, including arranging property access and conducting basic welfare checks.
• Respond to and refer tenant support queries and repair issues to the appropriate teams.
• Complete routine property and safety inspections, including fire safety checks and communal area inspections.
• Assist with cleaning and basic maintenance of hostel flats and communal areas.
• Deliver tenant starter packs and essential household items.
• Support housing teams with tenant-related duties across dispersed properties within the district.
• Undertake general administrative duties and maintain accurate records.
• Previous experience in a customer service, housing support, care, facilities, or administrative environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Access to a vehicle for work-related duties.
