Assistant General Manager | Full Time
At wagamama, we’re an eating house for the soul. With over 160 UK restaurants and growing, our purpose is to nourish the world from bowl to soul. Inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars since 1992, wagamama is a celebration of Asian food brought to life.
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join us on our journey of true nourishment.
The role |
As an Assistant General Manager, you'll be an integral part of the restaurant leadership team, supporting the General Manager in leading the restaurant in the wagamama way. You’ll embody our values and core leadership behaviors, inspiring and motivating your team to provide exceptional service and exceed expectations. You should have a passion for people, food, and hospitality, and be driven to make positive change.
Benefits include a competitive salary, £3000 bonus opportunity per year, an average of £140 tips per week, access to wagestream for up to 30% of earnings before payday, a dedicated 6-week training program, free wagamama food allowance on every shift, discounts at wagamama and other trg brands, internal progression opportunities, wellness programs, family-friendly policies, and financial wellbeing support.
What we look for |
An experienced hospitality manager capable of leading a restaurant team with positive behavior, driving performance in a fast-paced, complex environment. Strong communication skills, financial understanding, and experience managing budgets are essential. You should be a passionate leader, inspiring your team to flourish, with problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making skills.
The wagamama way |
Kaizen, meaning ‘good change’, is our philosophy, shaping everything we do. We value diversity, personality over perfection, and creating safe spaces for real conversations. We celebrate differences and promise to support our teams. We invite you to be yourself and bring your unique qualities to wagamama.
