Assistant General Manager | Full Time
At Wagamama, we’re an eating house for the soul. With over 160 UK restaurants and growing, our purpose is to nourish the world from bowl to soul. Inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars since 1992, Wagamama is a celebration of Asian food brought to life.
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join us on our journey of true nourishment.
As an Assistant General Manager, you'll be an integral part of the restaurant leadership team, supporting the General Manager in leading the restaurant in the Wagamama way. You’ll embody our values and core leadership behaviors, inspiring and motivating your team to provide exceptional service and exceed guest expectations. You should have a passion for people, food, and hospitality, and be driven to make positive change.
Benefits include a competitive salary, a £3000 bonus opportunity per year, an average of £140 tips per week, access to Wagestream to access up to 30% of your earnings before payday, a dedicated 6-week training program, free Wagamama food allowance on shifts, discounts at Wagamama and other brands, internal progression opportunities, wellness programs, family-friendly policies, and financial wellbeing support.
Experience as a hospitality manager capable of leading a restaurant team with positive behavior and performance in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, financial understanding, ability to manage budgets, leadership in team development, and problem-solving skills are essential. You should inspire and engage your team to flourish in their roles and careers.
Our philosophy, Kaizen, means 'good change' and influences everything we do—from our food to our work environment. We celebrate differences, promote trust and support, and create safe spaces for open conversations. We invite you to bring your unique self to Wagamama.
