Job summary

The Alan Hotel Manchester is seeking a hands-on maintenance professional to support guest rooms and dining spaces, ensuring facilities are safe, immaculate, and fully functional.

You’ll perform routine upkeep across building fabric, including basic plumbing, lighting, and carpentry; coordinate with housekeeping; help manage safety checks, tool inventories, and PPE provision to the team. This cross‑department role offers growth across hospitality operations.

Qualifications

• Have a practical background in building maintenance or a hands-on role.
• Comfortable using smartphones or tablets to receive and update daily tasks.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety and safe tool handling.
• Organised, reliable, and able to manage a varied daily to-do list.
• Passionate about hospitality and creating a comfortable guest environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks between guest rooms and public areas.
• Complete hands-on repairs to the building fabric, including plumbing, lighting, and carpentry.
• Resolve everyday maintenance issues quickly to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Support the wider team by tracking tool inventory and building materials.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and front office for quick-turn room repairs.
• Perform routine safety checks, including fire alarm testing and water temp monitoring.
