Mercure London Bankside is seeking a skilled Maintenance Lead to oversee daily operations, manage planned and reactive maintenance, and drive improvements across hotel infrastructure. You will lead a multi-skilled team, ensure safety compliance, and collaborate with senior management and contractors.

The role emphasizes proactive scheduling, lifecycle planning, and delivering reliable services to guests, while mentoring reports and promoting best practices within a high‑standard hospitality

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance experience.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
• Experience performing routine maintenance.
• Strong time management skills.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with site team, senior management, contractors and suppliers.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day to day operations of the department, including repairs, alteration, and installation of work.
• Lead the Maintenance function providing a reactive and proactive multi-skilled service on all operational equipment and hotels’ infrastructure.
• Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
• Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, reduce equipment failure room downtime
• Manage and implement improvement plans, driving KPI's ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
• Manage the teams on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst leading the department and mentoring direct reports.
• Identification of potential lifecycle deficiencies, produce capital budgets to match lifecycle expectancies.
• Implement and manage continuous improvement of maintenance services by highlighting recommending changes where necessary.
