Job summary

Mercure London Bankside is seeking a proactive Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations, including repairs, alterations and equipment installation, within a busy hotel. You will lead a multi-skilled team and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage planned works, and monitor KPIs to raise operational efficiency while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day to day operations of the department, including repairs, alteration, and installation of work.
• Lead the Maintenance function providing both, a reactive and proactive multi-skilled service on all operational equipment and hotels’ infrastructure.
• Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
• Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, reduce equipment downtime.
• Manage and implement improvement plans, driving KPI's and ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
• Manage the teams on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst leading the department and mentoring direct reports.
• Identification of potential lifecycle deficiencies, produce capital budgets to match lifecycle, implement and manage continuous improvement of maintenance services by highlighting recommending changes where necessary.

Job Description

Qualifications

Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.

Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.

Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.

Experience performing routine maintenance.

Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

Strong leadership and people management skills

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with site team, senior management, contractors and suppliers

Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
