Job summary

Loungers is hiring a General Manager to lead Sarto Lounge, a local café bar and part of the Loungers family. This hands-on role focuses on building a strong team, delivering great hospitality, and running the lounge like your own business.

You’ll own the lounge operations, drive community engagement, manage GP and labour, and lead from the floor with clear development plans. The role offers a 48-hour contract (40-hour option) with overtime pay and a structured bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in hospitality (restaurants, bars, cafés)
• Hands-on leadership with coaching on the floor
• Strong commercial awareness: GP, labour, stock, and KPIs

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of Sarto Lounge and lead a variety of shifts to ensure the right people are in the right place and standards never slip
• Build, recruit and develop a strong team with clear development plans for growth
• Work with Head Chef on food quality, wait times, stock, NSF standards and cross-training
• Know your numbers inside out: GP, labour, NPS, stock counts and drive continuous improvement
• Lead weekly HOD meetings and keep teams aligned across 14 shifts
• Position Sarto Lounge at the heart of the local community through social media, events and relationships with regulars
• Schedule rotas at least two weeks in advance and manage shift reporting including performance and safety
