Job summary

Ad Warrior Ltd is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the hospital school at Yeovil District Hospital. The role is a fixed-term maternity cover, part-time (22 hours per week, term time only) and starts as soon as possible.

The placement may involve work in the hospital classroom or at the bedside depending on pupils' medical needs. You will work closely with the hospital teacher to develop learning programmes, assist pupils with diverse needs, and help create a positive, inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum support for pupils with social, emotional, medical and mental health needs.
• Ability to engage with pupils across Year 5–11 and support learning in hospital or bedside settings.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills with teachers, parents and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Support the hospital teacher in delivering learning activities and programmes.
• Promote independence, self-esteem and social inclusion for pupils.
• Assist pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access curriculum and activities.
• Deliver and clarify instructions and support learning tasks.
• Maintain a tidy, well-organised learning environment and prepare resources.
