Job summary

Westfield Academy in Yeovil, Somerset, is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs from September 2026. The role includes delivering 1-2-1 and small group interventions and supporting curriculum classes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent written, numeracy and oral communication skills, with the ability to be calm, firm and patient. DBS check required, and full training provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a teaching assistant role is preferred.
• Experience of working with children is welcomed; full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support curriculum classes as part of the SEN provision.
• Deliver 1-2-1 and small group interventions.
• Be calm, firm and patient with students and support their learning.
