Job summary

Tor School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Yeovil to support pupils in learning, safeguarding and promoting wellbeing. The role involves working with class teachers, raising attainment and helping pupils access the curriculum during term-time on site.

The successful candidate will help pupils 1:1 or in groups, foster independence, self-esteem and social inclusion, and act as a mentor to support learning and development throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Supporting pupils to engage in learning and safeguard their wellbeing.
• Promoting independence, self-esteem and social inclusion of pupils.
• Assisting pupils to access the curriculum and achieve personal learning goals.

Responsibilities

• Work with class teachers to raise learning and attainment for individual pupils.
• Support pupils 1:1 or in groups to access learning and feel a sense of achievement.
• Promote social interactions and confidence in pupils through positive guidance.
