Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is recruiting for a General Porter based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital, Swansea. The post is on a 30-hour per week contract with shifts covering a 24/7 service.

The role involves patient movement, moving and handling and providing a flexible, comprehensive support service to hospital departments. You will work as part of a team to deliver efficient Portering services, contributing to high standards of customer care and ensuring a safe and effective hospital

Qualifications

• Undertake a wide range of routine portering duties including moving and handling.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff using telephone, radio and bleeps.
• Provide a flexible and comprehensive support service to hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Transfer patients and equipment as directed by management, and assist with relocations and disposals where needed.
