Job summary

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is hiring a General Porter at Wrexham Maelor Hospital to respond swiftly to requests to move patients and goods, including samples and medicines, with mechanical aids as needed. This is a part-time role (15 hours across Monday and Tuesday, 07:00–15:00).

Welsh is desirable but not essential; weekend and bank holiday work is required. You will lift and transfer loads, assist in emergencies, deliver meals, linen, and mail, and work as part of a small team

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a good standard of secondary education.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly.
• Willingness to travel within the area and work weekends/bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests to move patients and goods promptly.
• Lift and transfer loads using mechanical aids when risk assessed.
• Collect and deliver samples and medicines.
• Deliver meal trolleys, linen, goods and mail on time.
• Work as part of a team to keep the service running smoothly.
