Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is recruiting for a Band 2 Portering role based at Neath Port Talbot Hospital. The post offers a 30 hours per week contract with shifts covering a 24/7 service within the NHS framework.

The successful candidate will perform a wide range of portering duties, move patients and equipment, and provide flexible, customer-focused support to hospital departments under supervision. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Essential Qualifications & Knowledge: A good standard of general education covering a number of topics.
• Essential Qualifications & Knowledge: Customer services training NVQ level 2 / Knowledge of effective team working.
• Essential Qualifications & Knowledge: Previous experience within a hospital environment.
• Essential Qualifications & Knowledge: Previous experience working in a portering role or role involving working with members of the general public.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a wide range of routine portering duties including moving and handling, in line with portering department and general policies and procedures, with a commitment to customer care, following on the job training.
