Job summary

Sharpsmart is recruiting an Environmental Services Technician/Hospital Porter for casual hours at North Middlesex Hospital in London. You will move healthcare waste between waste rooms and disposal points, and assist with bin maintenance and sharps container distribution.

In a fast-paced hospital environment, you will work as part of a on-site team, adhering to health and safety procedures, and supporting waste segregation and other project duties as required. DBS clearance is required.

• Porter large 770L and 1100L waste bins between waste rooms and disposal points
• Clean large 770L/1100L bins
• Collect and distribute sharps containers weekly

• Work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

We have a vacancy for a casual hours Environmental Service Technician/Hospital Porter within our Field Services team. Field Services ensure our customers receive a top level service, and ensure we continue to up-hold our high standards.

This role will be based in a hospital healthcare environment and have a main focus of moving healthcare waste throughout the hospital.

Location:

North Middlesex Hospital - N18 1QX

• Portering of large 770L and 1100L wheelie bins from waste rooms to place of disposal and back on a daily basis.
• Cleaning of large wheeled 770L domestic and recycling bins.
• Supporting the contract on site where necessary with project specific duties
• Collection and distribution of our own reusable sharps containers on a weekly basis.
• Supportive in waste segregation, bin bag colour coding.
• Adhere to health and safety processes and procedures
• Have an understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
• Have ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks such as moving bulk containers
• Flexibility for a range of hours
