Sharpsmart UK is seeking a casual Environmental Service Technician/Hospital Porter to join our Field Services team in a hospital setting in Leeds. The role focuses on moving healthcare waste throughout the hospital, with duties including bin transport, bin cleaning, and supporting site operations.

You will work flexibly across locations such as St James Hospital and LGI Hospital, contributing to a fast-paced, safety-focused environment while upholding high service standards.

Qualifications

• Have an understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.
• Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks such as moving bulk containers.

Responsibilities

• Portering of large 770L and 1100L wheelie bins from waste rooms to disposal and back daily.
• Cleaning of large 770L bins (domestic and recycling).
• Support the on-site contract with project-specific duties.
• Collection and distribution of reusable sharps containers weekly.
• Assist in waste segregation and bin colour coding.
• Adhere to health and safety processes and procedures.

We have a vacancy for a casual hours Environmental Service Technician/Hospital Porter within our Field Services team. Field Services ensure our customers receive a top level service, and ensure we continue to up-hold our high standards.

This role will be based in a hospital healthcare environment and have a main focus of moving healthcare waste throughout the hospital.

Your role as a Porter will involve:

• Portering of large 770L and 1100L wheelie bins from waste rooms to place of disposal and back on a daily basis
• Cleaning of large wheeled 770L domestic and recycling bins
• Supporting the contract on site where necessary with project specific duties
• Collection and distribution of our own reusable sharps containers on a weekly basis
• Supportive in waste segregation, bin bag colour coding
• Adhere to health and safety processes and procedures
