Southend Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Distribution Assistant to support the Pharmacy Stores service and stock management. The role involves receiving and booking in medicines, distributing to wards, and maintaining accurate stock records.

The post is based at Southend Hospital with a 37.5-hour week (Mon-Fri, 7.5 hours daily). You will work with the Pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient patient care and timely medication availability for discharge.

Qualifications

• Support the day-to-day running of the Pharmacy Stores service, following on-the-job training.
• Receive and book in medicines and pharmaceutical stock accurately, maintaining records per procedures.
• Transport and distribute medicines safely to wards and departments across the hospital.
• Undertake regular expiry date checks, identifying short-dated or expired stock and taking action.
• Process the return of medicines using the WellSky system, keeping stock records accurate and up to date.
• Assist with the organisation and maintenance of Pharmacy Stores to ensure safe storage and stock availability.
• Answer calls from wards, departments and colleagues in a professional and helpful manner.
• Work with the wider Pharmacy team to provide an efficient, accurate, and responsive service for safe patient care.

Responsabilités

• Based at Southend Hospital; 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day.
• Support the Pharmacy Stores service daily operations and stock handling.
• Respond to enquiries from wards and colleagues to ensure smooth pharmacy logistics.
