Job summary

Southend University Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to lead the Distribution & Stores team within the Pharmacy Department at the Southend site. The post holder will contribute to a broad range of services, including dispensary, homecare, medicine management and trials, while ensuring high standards of storage and stock control.

The role requires a Band 6 Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, with current ACT qualification or progress

Qualifications

• Current recognised ACT qualification or significant progress towards the qualification is essential to this role.
• Applicants without previous management experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• To manage and coordinate the ward top up service
• To ensure safe storage of medicines
• To carry out storage audits
• To manage stock levels accurately and effectively
• To support other services within the pharmacy department including dispensary, procurement, ward technician services and trials
