Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Pharmacy Technician to lead the stores and distribution team at the Southend site. The post holder will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and will help deliver the hospital's pharmacy services, including Dispensary, Homecare, Medicine Management and Trials when needed.

The role requires attention to detail, team leadership and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Post-qualification experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Ability to lead and manage pharmacy stores and distribution.
• ACT qualification or progress towards it is essential.
• NHS leadership qualification and Medicines Management qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• To manage and coordinate the ward top up service.
• To ensure safe storage of medicines.
• To carry out storage audits.
• To manage stock levels accurately and effectively.
• To support other services within the pharmacy department including dispensary, procurement, ward technician services and trials.
