Job summary

Nurse Seekers is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a hospital team in Oxford. You will oversee the day-to-day non-clinical operations, drive patient experience, service delivery and operational performance, and work closely with the CEO and senior management.

Responsibilities include admissions planning, bed capacity management, health and safety, risk management and staff development, with occasional out-of-hours visits and on-call involvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an operational management role within healthcare settings.
• Strong customer service and people management skills.
• Experience with admissions, capacity or occupancy management.
• Knowledge of CQC requirements, health and safety and operational compliance.
• Experience supporting HR processes and managing operational change.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily non-clinical hospital operations, including reception and front-of-house services.
• Lead admissions planning, patient flow, bed capacity and occupancy management.
• Promote excellent patient, family and visitor experience.
• Manage operational staff, including recruitment, training and performance management.
• Oversee health and safety, risk management and business continuity with relevant colleagues.
• Identify and implement service improvements, operational efficiencies and change initiatives.
• Monitor performance, provide operational reports and support strategic planning.
• Build relationships with clinical teams, consultants, staff and external stakeholders.
