Job summary

Equans is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Smethwick, United Kingdom, to support our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. The full-time role is 40 hours per week with a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will work on ventilation, pumps, boilers, medical gases, heating and water systems, perform diagnostic fault-finding, and carry out planned maintenance. DBS check and a valid driving licence are required; on-call duty is part of the role.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ levels 2 and 3 required.
• Recognised apprenticeship in engineering discipline.
• Experience in a maintenance environment with complex mechanical systems.
• Current driving licence and ability to pass DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Work on ventilation, pumps, boilers, medical gases, heating and hot/cold-water systems.
• Respond to reactive jobs, diagnose faults and repair to standards and legislation.
• Coordinate with wards and departments to minimise disruption while carrying out work.
• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across site.
• Participate in on-call rota.
