Job summary

NCIC is recruiting a Band 2 Housekeeper at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. 75 hours per week across 12-hour and 6-hour shifts to ensure full coverage. The role supports the stroke/HASU ward with cleaning, meal service, and patient care tasks within a busy acute hospital environment.

The post offers NHS salary (£25,272 per annum pro rata) and a benefits package. Applicants should be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and maintain patient dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Good standard of general education.
• NVQ 1 in hotel services/food service or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service/caring environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal rounds and serve patients meals/drinks.
• Assist with feeding patients and update relevant documentation.
• Order weekly stores and put away deliveries.
• Routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Report equipment/environmental issues.
• Replenish ward supplies including linen.
• Maintain patient privacy and dignity.
• Work and liaise with other professionals in the team.
