Job summary

2gether Support Solutions is seeking an experienced Facilities Services Manager to lead Portering, Waste, Post Room, Reception and Security for William Harvey Hospital, Ashford. You will manage a large team across a 24/7 environment, ensuring safe patient and equipment transfers while delivering high standards of service and regulatory compliance.

The role is full-time and fixed-term until March 2027, with hours 7am–3pm Monday–Friday and on-call duties to support a 24/7 service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading large teams in facilities or related services.
• Experience in healthcare or hospital settings and service delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholders.
• Ability to monitor KPIs and implement service improvements.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a busy environment.
• Ability to manage budgets and on-call operational planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for Portering, Waste, Post Room, Reception and Security services.
• Lead and manage a large team of staff and Team Leaders with recruitment, induction, training, appraisal and performance management.
• Ensure safe transfer of patients, materials and equipment around the hospital in line with standards and service requirements.
• Monitor performance, produce reports on service levels and escalate risks as needed.
• Act as a key contact for customers, Trust managers and external stakeholders to manage issues and relationships.
• Implement corrective actions from complaints and monitor improvements to completion.
• Maintain policies and procedures across areas of responsibility and ensure safety compliance.
