Job summary

Equans is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Apprentice to join our team at Southmead Hospital in Bristol on a 48-month full-time apprenticeship. You will learn on the job while supporting a 24-hour maintenance service, with a starting salary of £12.71 per hour (£26,509.50 per year) and a 40-hour week.

The programme covers planned and unplanned maintenance across high and low voltage systems, with on-site work four days a week plus one day at college.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (4+ including Maths, English and Science) are required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop on the job as part of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Support Estates Management in providing a 24-hour maintenance service in the hospital.
• Assist in completing PPMs and remedials on electrical and mechanical equipment (RCDs, RCBOs, transformers, Emergency Lighting, motors).
• Learn to maintain and repair electrical systems to keep hospital services running safely.
• Work with experienced engineers on planned maintenance and fault fixing; attend college one day per week while working on-site.
