Job summary

Tapping House in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef Manager in preparing meals for patients, visitors, and staff. The role requires compliance with food safety and health & safety rules, with duties spanning from cooking to maintaining hygiene across the kitchen and dining areas.

The position is 28 hours per week, with weekend shifts and enhanced pay: Saturdays +30% and Sundays +60%.

Qualifications

• Compliance with food safety legislation and health & safety regulations.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support Chef Manager in preparing meals and beverages.
• Ensure meals are prepared, cooked and served to patients and staff.
• Assist with cash handling and till operations.
• Liaise with nursing staff regarding patient requirements and dietary needs.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and stored properly.
• Follow hospice policies and procedures on health & safety, confidentiality and safeguarding.
