Job summary

Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice is recruiting two part-time Catering Assistants to join the team. The role reports to the Head Chef and covers daily catering duties, food preparation and cooking simple meals under direction, with shifts between 7:00 and 18:30, 24 or 26 hours per week, including weekends.

We offer a pro-rata base salary on the Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale (AFC Band 2) (£25,272 per annum) plus enhancements, plus benefits and training.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and ability to practice all regulations of food hygiene.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
• Experience working in a catering department or kitchen.
• Knowledge of maintaining a clean, tidy, safe and hygienic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily provision of catering services at the Hospice.
• Work to ensure maintenance of the level 5 food hygiene rating.
• Undertake general kitchen duties and food preparation as directed by the Head Chef.
• Cook simple meals under the Head Chef's direction.
