Job summary

HJE in London is expanding its Hospice at Home service into Hammersmith & Fulham. Based within the charitable St John & St Elizabeth Hospital, St John’s Hospice provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care to people living with life-limiting illnesses, and support for their families.

As a Hospice at Home Healthcare Assistant you will work autonomously in patients' homes, assisting with personal hygiene, nutrition, hydration and medication prompts, and offering emotional support.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 or 3 in health or social care.
• Experience caring for patients at end of life or life-limiting illness.
• At least 12 months experience as a Health Care Assistant in hospital or other caring environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and toileting needs.
• Monitor skin integrity and support with nutrition and hydration.
• Prompt and assist with medications as prescribed.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Work autonomously in patients' homes with support from Hospice@Home team.
