Job summary

Saint Catherine’s Hospice in Scarborough is seeking Healthcare Assistants to join a compassionate, values-led team delivering specialist palliative and end-of-life care. You’ll work under registered nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients and their families on the In-Patient Unit and, if needed, with the Fastrack community team.

Qualifications

• Desirable experience in healthcare, care home or hospice settings, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of person-centred nursing care on the In-Patient Unit under supervision of registered nurses.
• Develop experience in palliative care and symptom control.
• Collaborate with all Patient Services departments to ensure service delivery.
• Observe and report patient condition and response to treatments to nursing/medical staff.
• Undertake personal care as required.
• Support the community Fastrack team as needed.
