Job summary

Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking dedicated Prevention Officers to assist clients facing homelessness or who are under threat of becoming homeless. This role involves case management, coordination with specialist support providers, and representing the Housing Services at weekly MARAC meetings.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent teamwork skills and experience with homeless legislation, providing high-quality customer service. This temporary position runs until 31st March 2027 and may require working until 19:00 hours.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable clients and the public.
• Skills in case management and coordination of support measures.
• Ability to review and update risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions on homeless duty and communicate results.
• Coordinate support measures for clients in need.
• Attend MARAC meetings to represent the Council's Housing Services.
• Refer clients to specialist support as needed.
• Work flexible hours to meet the demands of service.
