Total Care Recruitment Ltd. is recruiting a Homeless Support Worker in Belfast. You will provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing homelessness and related complex needs, helping with daily living skills and promoting independence.

You will assess risks, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with statutory bodies to safeguard clients. The role requires empathy, resilience, and a commitment to improving wellbeing for vulnerable people.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs A–C including Maths and English.
  • 1 year of paid work experience or 2 years volunteering experience.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes.
  • Good IT skills and experience using systems to record client information.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to compile and present accurate written and electronic reports.
  • Understanding of homelessness and related issues.
  • Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources available to individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety in service delivery.

Homeless Support Worker

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Homeless Support Workers to support individuals experiencing homelessness and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Support service users with daily living skills and encourage greater independence.
  • Assist with support plans, risk assessments and accurate record keeping.
  • Promote positive wellbeing and support individuals with mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs.
  • Respond appropriately to challenging situations and safeguarding concerns.
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues, statutory agencies and other professionals.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and follow safeguarding, Health & Safety and organisational procedures.
Essential Criteria
  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades A-C, including Maths and English, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year's relevant paid work experience or 2 years' relevant volunteering experience.
  • Good working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using systems to record client information.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to compile and present accurate written and electronic reports.
  • Understanding of homelessness and the issues that can lead to homelessness.
  • Understanding of the support that can be offered within homeless services to promote positive futures.
  • Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources available to individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining Health & Safety standards within service delivery.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, with the ability to effectively network and liaise with relevant professionals and organisations.
