Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a QTS tutor to deliver 1:1 Maths and English tutoring for a pupil requiring alternate education support in the UK. The role focuses on re-engaging the learner, providing structure, and aiding a return to school.

Qualifications

QTS Tutor
GBP30 ph - Full or Part time

This role requires a Tutor that holds QTS. Within this role, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons as a means of alternate education. One of your aims will be to support and re-engage a pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine, continue their educational development and aid their return to school. Patience is a key attribute as young people may have a prolonged period out of education or may have Social Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Information about the role:

• Ongoing placement, or until the young person returns to school
• Timetable dependent on the young persons needs
• GBP30 per hour
• Full time or part time hours available

The desired candidate will have:

• Experience tutoring Maths and English on a 1:1 or small group basis
• QTS
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils

What we need from you:

• Hold a right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to complete a new application
• Provide references to cover the last two years of employment
• The ability to commit to the young person and work for the duration of the placement
