Job summary

Willow Lodge Care Home in Redhill is recruiting a Universal Care Companion to provide daily living assistance within a household-model setting. You will help with personal care, meals, activities and medication, building relationships with residents in a stable, homelike environment.

Full training is provided, including medication administration and food hygiene. The role offers contracted hours in a supportive team, with no travel between homes and a focus on consistent, resident-centered care.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a similar care environment desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internal systems.
• Flexible, patient and caring with a people-focused approach.
• Able to work both in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living tasks including mobility, personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with meals, outings, shopping, housekeeping and medication administration as required.
• Represent Willow Lodge professionally to residents, families and visitors.
• Attend team meetings and contribute to ongoing service improvements.

You currently work in Home Care, you don't have confirmed hours and you don't always know where you are going when you are assigned your visits for the day, the week and the month. You love supporting people in their own home and you are passionate about enabling people to do the most they can for themselves. As a Universal Care Companion at Willow Lodge, you'll be at the very heart of the household. You'll support people with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care, helping to create a warm, safe, and homely environment. You'll receive full training, including medication administration and food hygiene, to support you confidently in your role. Responsibilities and Duties

• To support people with intimate washing/drying, how they wish to be dressed and presented, including shaving, hair style, nails, teeth.
• Represent the Willow Lodge brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
• Attend and actively contribute to team meetings and monthly lessons learned labs.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the household.

Skills, Qualifications and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable
• You need to be flexible, patient, with a 'can do' caring attitude, and a real 'people person'
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
