Job summary

United Utilities is seeking an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join our production team at Workington Waste Water Treatment Works, Siddick, Flimby, Workington, Cumbria. The role involves maintaining, fault-finding, and improving critical water assets, with a mix of planned maintenance, reactive work, and improvements.

The successful candidate will work from a company van, travel to sites, and participate in a standby rota.

Qualifications

• Industrial electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Pumps operation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair in an operational environment.
• Experience with 400V three‑phase systems and motors.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical works.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults to minimise downtime and ensure asset reliability.
• Working on a range of industrial electrical systems across operational sites.
• Supporting capital and operational project work.
• Working safely in confined spaces and high risk environments.
• Collaborating with internal teams and supervising electrical contractors.
• Accurately recording maintenance activities and complying with safety procedures.
• Participating in a standby rota (1 in 6) with standby payments where applicable.
