Job summary

Midlothian Council’s Care at Home service is seeking an experienced Care Team Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations, ensure safe, person-centred care at home, and coordinate care delivery. You will lead staff, review care plans, and collaborate with agencies to maintain high standards.

The role requires supervisory experience, PVG clearance for Regulated Work with Protected Adults, and a commitment to safeguarding and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or social care environment.
• Experience in supporting or supervising staff.
• Strong understanding of person-centred care and independence at home.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a busy setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in decision making and adapting to change.
• Ability to work with colleagues and partner agencies.
• Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills.
• Knowledge of relevant social care legislation and policies.
• Commitment to high standards of care, dignity and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate packages of care in response to assessed needs and resources.
• Organise carer runs and daily staffing to use resources efficiently.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to Care at Home staff.
• Respond to changing needs and adjust care packages accordingly.
• Monitor delivery and quality of care and address concerns.
• Support staff with complex care situations and incidents.
• Collaborate with service users, families, social work and health professionals.
• Participate in on-call rota and support care plan reviews.
• Support supervision, development, training and performance management.
• Assist investigations of incidents and complaints and promote best practices.
