Job summary

Care South is hiring Home Care Assistants in the Bournemouth area (Ferndown and Verwood) to provide compassionate care in clients’ homes. You will receive comprehensive training, and the role includes paid travel time and a generous 40p per mile mileage allowance. A driving licence is essential and you must be able to cover flexible shifts, including weekends.

The role supports individuals to stay independent, with ongoing development opportunities and a friendly, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Driving licence and access to a vehicle.

• Strong attention to detail and reporting skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to undertake one.
• Must be 18 years or older.

About The Role

Role: Home Care Assistant

Location: Ferndown and Verwood

Pay rate: £13.70 - £15.70 per hour

Travel: £12.71 per hour, plus 40p per mile mileage allowance

Hours: Full time, part time and bank positions available

Shift Pattern: Core shift times are 7:00 - 14:00 and 16:00 - 22:00. We also offer flexible evening shifts, including 16:00 - 20:00, 16:30 - 21:30, and 18:00 - 22:00.

As a Home Care Assistant with Care South, we ensure you are paid not just your contact time, but also for your travel time. On top of this we pay a generous mileage rate of 40p per mile.

This Home Care Assistant role is community based, it is essential applicants hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
