Job summary

Agricultural and Farming Jobs is seeking a Technical Sales Manager to drive sales of specialist agricultural components and technology directly into OEM manufacturers. The role is home-based in the UK with regular travel to customer sites and exhibitions.

You will work with engineers and design teams to identify opportunities, tailor solutions, and build long-term relationships. A strong technical background in agricultural machinery components and proven sales acumen are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical component sales within the agricultural industry.
• Strong technical and engineering understanding of agricultural machinery components.
• Experience working with manufacturers or supplying technical products for integration into machinery.
• Ability to understand technical specifications, including basic electrical and mechanical requirements.
• Proven business development and customer relationship management skills.
• Confidence discussing technical solutions with engineers, designers and manufacturing customers.
• Strong commercial awareness, communication and negotiation skills.
• Innovative, forward-thinking approach with the confidence to make decisions.
• Ability to travel throughout the UK and occasionally internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop new business directly with agricultural machinery manufacturers (OEMs).
• Sell specialist agricultural components, pumping and precision metering systems.
• Build and manage long-term relationships with manufacturing customers.
• Identify opportunities for components to be incorporated into new and existing machinery.
• Understand customer technical requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
• Work closely with engineering and design teams on bespoke product applications.
• Develop and support relationships with specialist component dealers and retrofit customers.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate agreements and manage sales opportunities.
• Deliver technical product presentations and demonstrations.
• Attend relevant agricultural exhibitions and industry events.
• Maintain customer records, sales forecasts and business development plans.
