Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customers' homes or workplaces in Chester. The role is permanent, full-time, with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday 8:30am–5pm and one Saturday per month.

You will work with EVs, use diagnostic tools, handle payments, and keep records. Benefits include overtime and bonus schemes, 31–33 days holiday, pension, life cover, salary sacrifice car options, and access to training and progression.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points, no bans).

Responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicles at customer locations (including EVs).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex problems.
• Communicate repair needs and recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments via card transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Keep up-to-date with latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
