Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customer locations across a 40-hour week (Mon–Fri, 8:00–17:00) with optional Saturdays. Overtime is rewarded with enhanced pay and a generous bonus scheme.

The role covers EVs and traditional vehicles from customers’ driveways or workplaces. You will join a specialist division of the UK’s leading breakdown company, with career progression opportunities and pension support.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 or Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures; strong customer focus.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence (max 6 points, no bans).

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveway, car park, etc.), including EVs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and software.
• Communicate clearly with customers about issues and repair recommendations; provide cost estimates.
• Process payments via card transactions and keep accurate records of work and parts used.
• Keep up to date with automotive technology and repair techniques.
